Yamaha Motor Philippines and Metzeler hosted a gathering of Yamaha XT (XTZ and Serow) owner’s for a 2 days Camp and Trail ride last June 24 and 25. Together with the YMPH Sales and Marketing Director, Kaoru Ogura, Rockler Reyes of Motoworld, Louie Ruben of Metzeler, Jose Magsaysay Jr. of Potato Corner and Mel Aquino of the Mel Aquicno Yamaha Offroad Training Camp(MAYOTC), all the riders as well as sever media partners were pumped to visit the sights of the trail ride, namely, 10 commandments in Boso-Boso and Kinabuan Falls in Sta. Ines, Tanay Rizal.
During the ride, the participants enjoyed the 16 river crossings, a lot rock gardens, sweeping back roads and mud. Of course there were some miscues along the way, some overshot, fell down, and there was a bike drowning in one of the rivers coming from Kinabuan falls, but with the able support of the ride marshalls led by trail legend Alex “Bigshot” Santos, Mel Aquino and YMPH’s Kaoru Ogura, who is an experienced and excellent off-road rider, the riders eventually completed the challenging route of course aided by the vary able XT bikes and Metzeler tires.
After lunch and some rest, the group continued to ride back to the trail camp site at 10 commandments in Boso-Boso Tanay, Rizal. After dinner, the program started and prizes were raffled off to lucky participants. Kaoru Ogura promised that this would be a first of a series of Off Road rides to promote the culture of off road riding and promote it to the other riders. Bulacan and Bataan are being eyed as the next venue for the series.
